Xello

Xello is an engaging, online program that helps K-12 students define their future goals and transform their aspirations into actionable plans for success. The program puts students at the center of their college and career planning experience. It helps students build self-knowledge, explore their options, create a plan, and develop the 21st-century skills needed to thrive in the world of work. 

Student Access to Xello: Student can access Xello only through their Launchpad. 

Parent Portal to Xello

A Xello Parent Portal has been created for parents through the OCPS LaunchPad Parent Portal. The Xello link provides parents with information on how to gain access and create an account, as well as Xello resources. Only OCPS parents have access to the Xello Parent Resources

Linking your Common App--12^th Graders Students

• Linking Your Common App to Xello (by linking Common App you will also see the list of schools you are applying to)
• Requesting your Documents Common App (walks through the process for requesting forms from counselors & teachers)

Set up a teacher profile for Common App (For teacher’s letter of recommendation)

• Common App has teamed up with Xello to make supporting your students with their college applications easier. For colleges that work with Common App, students send requests for application documents to educators in Xello. As a teacher, you'll receive requests for teacher evaluations.
• Once you receive your first request via email, you'll need to create a teacher profile. You only need to complete the teacher profile one time, and you can edit it at any point. It will be included with every letter you send.
• You must set up your Xello account to be able to see your teacher’s names

College Applications (Linking Common App to Xello & Assigning Your School Counselor to Xello)

If you are completing your College Applications through Common App, you are required to link your Common App to Xello as well as assign your school counselor. Once you have completed the steps listed below, your school counselor will then be able to upload your transcript and any required supporting documents for you.

Steps to Link Common Application to Xello

• Create your Common Application Account

1. Click the "Xello" icon on your OCPS Launchpad Dashboard

2. Hover over "Explore" and then click "College Applications"

3. Click "Connect"

4. Click "Connect" again on pop-up

5. Create/Sign-in to Common App

Steps to assign your School Counselor to Xello

1. Hover over “Explore”
2. Click on “College Applications”

3. Click on the “Common App” icon next to any one of the colleges that you have saved on your list

4. Assign your school counselor

How to Access Scholarships:

• Xello 
  • Students can access scholarships by going to Xello → College Planning → Scholarships to create their profile and get matched with scholarships that fit
