Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I receive accommodations on College Board or ACT exams?
To receive testing accommodations on College Board or ACT exams, if you have a 504 or IEP, you must apply and be approved. Please contact your plan coordinator with questions or to start the process. If you have already applied and been approved then you do not need to apply again.
How will I receive my specific testing information (dates, times, locations, important information)?
Students will receive all testing information directly to their OCPS student email account. Students are asked to check their email daily.
Which test(s) do I need to take?
The Florida Department of Education and Orange County Public Schools view all FSA and EOC tests as required tests that all students will take. The grade 10 FSA and the Algebra 1 EOC are both graduation requirements. In addition, all EOCs (not including FSA) count towards part of the course final grade.
How can I find out if I need to take a specific test?
Contact your school counselor. Counselor contact information is on the Testing Information page.
What happens if I don’t pass an EOC or FSA test?
Retake opportunities are offered for all EOC and FSA tests beginning in the fall. Check the Testing Information page for date and signup information.
If I don’t pass the Algebra 1 EOC, can I use the score from another test to meet the graduation requirement?
Yes. Students who entered 9th grade as of the 2018-19 school year who do not pass the Algebra 1 EOC may earn a concordant score by: a) earning a score of 430 or higher on the Math section of the PSAT NMSQT, or b) earning a score of 420 or higher on the Math section of the SAT, or c) earning a score of 16 or higher on the Math section of the ACT, or d) earning a passing score of 499 or higher on the Geometry EOC,
If I don’t pass the grade 10 FSA, can I use the score from another test to meet the graduation requirement?
Yes. Students who entered 9th grade as of the 2018-19 school year who do not pass the grade 10 FSA may earn a concordant score by: a) earning a score of 480 or higher on the SAT EBRW, or b) earning an average score of 18 or higher on the English and Reading subject test scores on the ACT [an average score that results in a decimal of .5 will be rounded to the next highest whole number score; the English and Reading subject scores may come from different administrations of the ACT.
Who should take the PERT?
Students interested in enrolling for Valencia College Dual Enrollment must take the PERT if they do not have SAT or ACT scores that meet enrollment requirements. For information about the PERT, see the links for Valencia Dual Enrollment in the Important Websites section of the Testing Information page.
