Academies at Timber Creek


Business Academy-Students at Timber Creek High School have the opportunity to gain work experience in one of our on campus businesses. While working in the business, students will not only receive a grade & class credit, but the work experience they gain can be placed on a job resume/application. Each business is affiliated with a "real world" business. They are student run with a TCHS Business teacher coordinating/ overseeing the process. Science, Technology and Engineering-Timber Creek High School and the Science, Technology and Engineering Academy (TCEngineering) is a Certified Project Lead The Way (PLTW) School. PLTW is a nationally recognized curriculum that encourages the study of Engineering by high school students. This four year program creates real-world learning experiences for our students through Autodesk industry certification and mentorship by local industry professionals from Lockheed Martin Inc., SAIC, Siemans and others. Students have an opportunity to earn college credit locally through an articulation agreement with Valencia State College ‘s Career Pathway program. College Credit is also offered through university affiliates from all across the country. Florida’s state PLTW affiliate is Florida State University, Panama City. Affiliates across the country include Duke University, Auburn University and the Milwaukee School of Engineering. TCEngineering’s faculty are all certified instructors of Project Lead the Way. Early Childhood Academy-  The Early Childhood Education Academy prepares students for work in the child care and early childhood industry. This four year program creates real-world learning experiences for our students through industry certification and the opportunity to work in a preschool lab. Students also have an opportunity to earn college credit through Seminole State College's Career Pathway program, as well as Valencia Community College’s Early Childhood Education AA program. Academy of Agricultural and Animal Sciences-Loving animals is easy, but taking care for them is a whole different story. Timber Creek Vet Assisting Program can help you towards a career in Veterinary Medicine. With hands-on learning, a doggie daycare and multiple opportunities students can achieve a Vet Assist Certification at the end of the program. Graduates of this program have gone on to work in Vet clinics, University of Florida’s Pre-Vet program and other veterinary pursuits.
